Trip to Omaha

We decided to take a weekend trip to Omaha to have some fun before the boys start school.  We stayed at the motel Friday and Saturday night and came home Sunday afternoon.  We stayed at a nice motel that had a nice pool with a couple kid slides.  It was perfect for Isaac and Caleb.  They absolutely loved it.  Lucas didn't mind the water too much either.  We spent all day Saturday at the zoo which was a lot of fun for all of us.  Lucas enjoyed himself too.  Then we went to one of our favorite places to eat.  It is our favorite place to eat but for the life of me I cannot remember the name ha!  There were so many food options to choose from, so many deserts, even cotton candy!!!  On the way home we stopped at a museum and spent some time there and then we stopped at Red Robin for supper.  What a fun vacation and everyone was in good spirits and the boys behaved so well.  Lucas even slept pretty decent in the motel room.  He slept with me in bed more than in the pack n play but that's ok.

No strawberries

This morning I gave Lucas  some Apple/Banana/Strawberry baby food.  He's had applesauce and bananas before with no problem.  I put him down for his morning nap and when he woke up he looked like this!

At first I couldn't figure out what on earth was wrong with his eyes, then I realized he had strawberries which he hadn't had before.  Doctor says no strawberries or strawberry flavored things until at least 2 years now.

Couple pictures

I thought it would be cute to get a few pictures of Lucas by the bales.  He wasn't sure about that, but they were pretty funny!!!

Pioneer Days

Pioneer Days was this past weekend in Milford.  We all went Friday night so the boys could participate in the Pedal Pull contest.  They had free hotdogs and chips down by the park and then the Pedal Pull took place followed by bouncy houses.  Ross headed back home that night and the boys and I stayed over and went to the parade the next day.

Isaac and Caleb had done a Pedal Pull at the Lyon County fair just a couple weeks before and they didn't do very well as they had never done it and didn't really know what to expect.  This time they knew exactly what to do.  Isaac did an amazing job.  He was just 1/2 inch away from tying with the boy who got first place.  I think he thought he was to the end and stopped pedaling instead of going a little bit further.   It started out to be a little bit of an issue as he thought he wasn't getting a prize.  He qualified for Second Place and he did get a trophey which made him so happy.  Caleb improved a whole lot but did not qualify for a place in his age category.  Both boys did awesome and both were pleased.  Way to go boys.

It's a good thing my Mom hit up some garage sales because on Saturday it was so cold that everyone had to be dressed in sweatshirts and pants.  Brrrr!!!  That didn't stop the older boys from getting their candy at the parade!

6 months old!

It's so hard to believe this little monkey is 6 months old.  He amazes us with how much he tries to keep up with his brothers.  He was sitting by 5 months and now he is crawling.  He's starting to get into a lot, including his brothers toys.  Caleb tends to bring Lucas over to me and tells me to keep him by me, he doesn't seem to realize that Lucas is going to crawl right back over to him :-)  Both boys are so good with him and he just squeals with delight when he sees them.

Lucas is now eating cereal and some baby food.  He's not quite sure about it all yet but he's catching on.  He seems to prefer green veggies and all fruits.

Children's Museum

We took the kids to the Children's Museum in Brookings.  We've been to it once before and the boys had a blast so we figured it would be a fun day for them to burn off some energy.  They had both indoor and outdoor activities.  The museum is in an old school and every room has something different.  Isaac and Caleb spent time running from room to room.  We didn't have to be right there with them the entire time as they were old enough to do a "little" exploring on their own.  I brought the stroller and Lucas spent the majority of the time in the stroller both indoors and outdoors.  There were a couple baby rooms that he was able to play with soft blocks and other toys.  Amazingly enough the room for babies even had a rocking chair so I could feed him so that was nice.

Here are a few pictures from our fun day!
