Is winter over yet??

We sure have had a eventful winter so far. I think I've had the flu myself 3 times this winter. Caleb has had it once for sure, Isaac once or twice and Ross a couple times too. Every single germ these guys pick up at daycare comes home and we pass it around. We like sharing. The latest saga was taking Isaac to the hospital on Sunday morning due to severe constipation. He's really had a battle with this ever since going off formula and onto cows milk. It's been 3 months and no improvements. He literally screams in pain in the middle of the night! The poor guy is so backed up and we've tried more water, juice, veggies, fruit in his diet, pear juice, prune juice, graham crackers, and miralax. None of that has worked. The only thing giving him some relief is mixing dark karo syrup with his milk. Well Isaac had blood work done and an X ray. His belly is full and he is backed up. So now we have to stop giving him milk this week so we can determine if it is the milk. We're also giving him the karo syrup and milk of magnesia. We're taking this opportunity to wean him from his bottle. It's going to be a rough couple days but we'll manage I am sure.

To make things even better, I took Caleb to the clinic this morning. He's been doing more frequent projectile vomiting and not having much of an appetite. We had an Xray done on his belly to make sure there were no gas bubbles causing him to throw up. That turned out clear, but he does have an ear infection and that is more than likely the cause of it. So he's on meds for 10 days. Wow.

Anyway here are some pictures I've taken the last month or so. I've been trying to get more of Isaac lately since it's been a while because he's so active. Enjoy.

6 months old/flu

I can't believe Caleb is 6 months already! Gosh time is just flying by. Caleb is over 17 lbs now and about 26 1/2 inches long. He doesn't want to roll over. He did it a few times at 3 months and does it sporadically but that's it. He is sitting on his own now for the most part, he's holding his own bottle and has started saying "babababa" and "dadadada". Caleb came down with the flu as well. I put him to bed around 8:30 and he woke up crying around 10:30. Ross went up to feed him and he started coughing and threw up his milk. That's nothing new, he does that from time to time. But then after I changed his pajamas he did it 2 more times and he was shivering so I knew he was sick. He threw up about 6 times and then he was okay. He still doesn't have much of an appetite but we've gotten him to take quite a bit of pedialyte so that's good. Now we just hope we don't pass it around yet again!

I took a few pictures of Caleb during the day. He is such a ham!!!!

New Years Day!

Happy 2009 everyone! Wow, and to think I'm going to be 29 in a few short days!!! Boy do I feel OLD! Ha ha! It's really amazing how life works out. I remember shortly after getting married I wanted to start a family fairly soon and to have 2 children before I was 30. Little did I know what was ahead for us. After years of trying we finally adopt and get our miracle boy and ONLY THEN did we get pregnant with our 2nd miracle boy. Life is good.

New Years Day we went to Ross' Grandma and Grandpa W's house for french toast and pancakes. It was a good day. Isaac has been such a good boy these past few days. We were trying to figure out what was wrong the last few weeks because It started after he had strep throat. I'd pick him up from daycare and he'd be crying, and at night he'd be so fussy, he'd wake up fussy. He didn't want to be held, he didn't want to be put down, didn't want to eat. Well all that was because of his major constipation/stomach issues. Once we started the Karo syrup and pear juice he became his old self again....THANK GOODNESS!!! I expected Isaac to get super fussy because he only had a morning nap on New Years but he didn't. He was a good boy and made it to 7:30 when he fell asleep drinking his bottle and slept until 7:30 AM!!! Wohoo!!! Now sleep for Caleb....that's another story. He's back to waking up a lot. He is going through a growth spurt but he just can't seem to make it through the night without eating. If he would only start eating the cereal/fruits/veggies. It's a chore to get him to open his mouth.

Well anyway here are some pictures from New Years Day....GO HAWKS!!!!

Christmas pictures and more...

What a week it's been. Busy to say the least. Wednesday night (Christmas Eve) I was able to get off work at 2:00 which was nice. The daycare closed at 3:30 so I figured getting off to get some groceries first was a good idea. We had the Children's Service at night so we dressed the boys up in their cute little outfits they wore at Baby Dedication and went to church. Isaac ended up going to the nursery because he wanted to play, but Caleb did well and we were able to stay in the church the whole service! Christmas morning Ross and I and the boys enjoyed a nice Christmas together. The boys opened their presents from us. We got them a little table that has various activities to play with like a piano, phone, etc. We also got them a glow worm, Isaac got a magna doodle since he seems fascinated with the pen part. We got Caleb some more links and soft blocks. I had planned on getting Isaac a few outfits but that didn't happen. Caleb got 2 new outfits. We headed to Milford that afternoon and spent with my extended family. Then we headed back to George to spend with Ross' extended family. Friday afternoon we spent with Ross' parents and siblings, Friday night was with my parents and siblings. Saturday we headed to Omaha for more extended family. It was so busy!!!!! The boys got so many nice toys and clothes.

Here are a few pictures from Christmas and some others I took of the boys.

Too cute!

I caught a short video of Isaac blowing kisses and waving bye bye. He is so funny and loves to blow kisses. Of course the only time I can actually get a photo or video in one spot is when he's confined to his highchair!!!! The joys of a toddler!

Lets not forget Sam

Sam wanted to be mentioned too so I thought I'd show you how good he is with the kids. What a good dog he is, he just takes it all in!

Random pictures of the little ones!

Merry Christmas with love

I was able to get some Christmas pictures of the boys. As you know Isaac will not sit still so that is why I am lacking in pictures of him. It's a good thing I took lots of him as a baby. Hopefully he'll be out of this stage and will actually sit for a picture at some point again.

It's still hard to believe Christmas is just a few days away. We decided for just a table top tree this year as I know Isaac would have a big tree knocked over numerous times. When we were at the clinic last week, it just confirmed my decision was the right one as he was constantly trying to pull the ornaments off. The boys are growing too fast. We aren't even done Christmas shopping. The weather isn't cooperating with us and with the boys it's harder to find time. At least we have most of the shopping done. Christmas Day and the day after is going to be very busy for all of us. 2 Christmas celebrations each day. Hopefully we can get through it with minimal meltdowns.

Enjoy the holidays!

Ross, Amber, Isaac, Caleb & Sammy!

This photo is hillarious!
