My goal was to stay out of the doctor's office as long as possible but it just isn't working. I thought Caleb was going to be my healthy child but I'm now thinking Isaac is doing much better and it's Caleb that's always sick. I'm sure the infant room at daycare doesn't help but still. Since the middle of December Caleb has come down with croup, stomach flu, left ear infection, bronchitis, and right ear infection. I won't be surprised if he ends up with tubes someday. I'm just thankful he's such a laid back baby and doesn't complain much. It's actually pretty hard to figure out the ear infections because he doesn't really complain at all. He usually gets a fever or throws up more and doesn't take the bottle but that's about it. After almost a week of that I took him back this week and sure enough, another ear infection, it was just a month since his last one. Isaac seems to be doing pretty good and hasn't had a sinus infection since January (knock on wood).
I can't believe Isaac is 16 months old already and Caleb will soon be 8 months. Caleb is my laid back baby so I am not looking for him to be mobile anytime soon. I think he's going to take after me. Why rush when Mom can hold and carry him everywhere.

Your little ones are adorable. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner about the questions you asked. We;ve had a lot going on. I'd be happy to talk to you anytime about growing up adopted. I can only speak from my perspective. My sister, ten months younger than myself, might have a very different tale to tell:)
I have always felt special being adopted...it made me different from everyone else...back in the day there weren't nearly as many adopted children around...that one knew about. I know my sister felt at times that I had "take" her firstborn spot, but we were very different. My parents could have put us in the same grade, but wisely did not. Put the younger one in the grade below. In this day and age, he will not be much older than his classmates, if at all (trust me on this, if his is a summer birthday most of the children his age will be held back and do T-K).
I can't remember if you asked anything else, but I'm happy to answer any questions. Here is my e-mail which might be an easier way for us to communicate: jelopopp@hickorytech.net
Have a great day,
Lori
