Merry Christmas with love

I was able to get some Christmas pictures of the boys. As you know Isaac will not sit still so that is why I am lacking in pictures of him. It's a good thing I took lots of him as a baby. Hopefully he'll be out of this stage and will actually sit for a picture at some point again.

It's still hard to believe Christmas is just a few days away. We decided for just a table top tree this year as I know Isaac would have a big tree knocked over numerous times. When we were at the clinic last week, it just confirmed my decision was the right one as he was constantly trying to pull the ornaments off. The boys are growing too fast. We aren't even done Christmas shopping. The weather isn't cooperating with us and with the boys it's harder to find time. At least we have most of the shopping done. Christmas Day and the day after is going to be very busy for all of us. 2 Christmas celebrations each day. Hopefully we can get through it with minimal meltdowns.

Enjoy the holidays!

Cousin Bjorn and Caleb!

Bjorn was baptized on December 7th so the 4 of us made the trip over to Milford to see the little guy and the rest of the family. It's amazing how much he's grown. He started off much smaller then Caleb and is 5 1/2 weeks younger but he is catching up fast. It's always fun to get their picture taken together. We do see a resemblance between the two of them. So cute.

This picture cracks me up. Looks like Caleb is saying "yep I did it".

I wish I knew

I was I knew what was up with Isaac. Oh how I was he could tell me what was wrong. Last Monday he started running a low grade fever around 99 and I noticed his bottom eye tooth was popping through so I assumed that was the cause of his low fever. He had the low fever Tuesday and late Wednesday afternoon the daycare called. His fever spiked to 103 so I picked him up. He sure did not look like he felt well. He even took a nap at 4:30 which never happens. He was very clingy. Thursday morning he was quite cranky and still had a fever of 102. Since we were going into the weekend I decided to take him in. The daycare has had strep in Isaac's room so they tested for that. It came back negative for Strep A. They sent another test in that tests for Strep B and they did blood work to see where his numbers were. His numbers were right smack in the middle so the doctor was not sure whether he though he would test positive or not. So he sent in a prescription for penicillin and is treating him as if he has strep. If the test comes back negative he'll call me and we'll stop the meds. Thursday night Isaac woke up at 10:30 crying and screaming. There is a twin bed in his room so Ross slept with him in the bed which ended up being all night. Ross said he is sure he didn't get more than 2 hours of sleep. Last night same situation, woke up at 12:30 and screamed. Ross was finally able to put him down at 4:00 am. It just doesn't make sense. He's not running a fever anymore and so we have no idea what is going on. I wouldn't think it would be behavorial. He wouldn't start this screaming all of a sudden. I tried to trace it back to the penicillin side effects but "not sleeping" is not one listed. I'm at a loss, I'm tired and I just don't know what else to do. To top it off Caleb woke up at 2:30, 3:30, 4:00 and 5:30, why? I have no idea. We were doing so great with scheduling and sleeping and now this!!!!! I am debating whether to take Isaac back in on Monday. This cannot continue! If you read this far, thanks!

5 months already!

I don't know where the time has gone. Caleb is 5 months old!!! He is a big boy for sure. I will be anxious to find out next month how much he weighs. I am sure it's over 16 lbs by now. He is such a laid back baby. I think his personality is a lot like mine. He really hates tummy time. He wants nothing to do with it. He gets really mad the minute you put him down and he brings his arms back and he rocks. He rolled from his tummy to back right after he turned 3 months. He has yet to do it again. However, last night I turned my back for a second and he rolled from his back to stomach. He's getting there, but he's taking his time and going at his own pace, pretty much like I do things! We tried cereal at 4 months and all of a sudden the second try he decided he didn't want it. He closes his mouth and turns his head and gets mad when the spoon gets anywhere near his mouth. I guess I'll try again at 6 months and hope he'll take it then. He's taking in so much formula he really could use some cereal.
Caleb is going to pass Isaac in size in no time. He is a big boy and not small like Isaac is. At the last measurement Isaac was 30 1/4 inches and Caleb was 26 so he's getting there. Isaac is 21 lbs and Caleb is 16. Ross was a big baby so that's where his size comes into play.

I took some pictures and even managed to get a few of the boys together.

Dedication

Well we finally did it. We had both Isaac and Caleb dedicated at church today. It was such a nice service and a wonderful day for our family. We have truly been blessed. It is so much fun listening to the Pastor talk about our story and how he remembers how much we were praying and hoping for a baby, and now we have TWO. Definitely not something we ever thought would happen, but it has been wonderful (aside from the two of them crying at the same time and Mommy almost pulling her hair out :-) )

The boys looked absolutely adorable in their outfits. I cannot get Isaac to sit still for anything anymore, especially not a picture so we just have to wait until he's back into pictures again. In the meantime we will enjoy capturing Caleb's personality!

Cereal time

Well the doctor said we could try Caleb on cereal now. He's taking in about 40 0z. of formula a day (yes he's a big eater). He's holding his head up quite steadily and is very alert so he believes he's ready. He's had it 3 nights so far. Although it hasn't helped him sleep through the night yet, it is helping. He's been making it to 4:30 or 5:00 and I think he would go longer if he had shades in his room. We got new windows and they aren't quite finished so the shades are down right now. Caleb isn't sure about the texture of the cereal yet, but Isaac was the same way. Here's a short video.

Caleb is 4 months old now!

I can't believe he's 4 months already. It's amazing how fast time is flying now. Caleb is a really good baby. We're still working on sleeping through the night. He had started doing it a month ago or more but he seems to get pretty hungry in the night. The doctor okayed us to start cereal since he's drinking so much formula during the day and he is holding his head up really well and very alert. Hopefully he'll start sleeping through the night very soon. At least he only gets up once, that we can handle.

Caleb is now 15 lbs 3 oz and 26 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for length and 50th for weight. I compared measurements with Isaac at this age and Caleb is 1 lb bigger and 1 inch longer. I'm afraid we're going to have to transition Caleb to the convertible carseat soon. The maximum length for the infant carrier is 26 inches and he's so heavy to carry in it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN LOVE ISAAC & CALEB

Well we didn't take them trick or treating or anything. I found 2 cute costumes at the consignment shop and had to get them so that I could get a couple pictures. Maybe next year we'll go around to all the businesses. The boys weren't even at daycare on Halloween. They spent the day with Mommy and Grandma. Of course the boys were wearing their Halloween shirts! Isaac's was one that had lights and he was pretty impressed with it. Anyway, here is the cutest little Giraffe and Tigger I've ever seen!

Caleb's fall pictures

I took a few pictures of Mr. Caleb outside. Of course we had a really windy weekend and all the leaves I had piled together were scattered. It was quite sunny too and the sun makes Caleb's hair look really red. I don't think he'll have red hair though, I think he'll have blond hair.

Isaac's 1st combine ride

On Isaac's birthday Ross happened to be combining corn at our place so I put on his John Deere sweatshirt and we headed out to the field. I got to ride too so Isaac would sit on my lap. I tried to get some good pictures but the flash was reflecting off of the window and I didn't have time to try and figure my camera out. I think the picture of Ross and Isaac from the side is really cute even if Isaac wasn't looking. Hopefully next year both boys will get to go.

Isaac's check up

Isaac had his check up today. He is growing right on schedule. He now weighs 20 lbs 11 oz. and is 30 1/4 inches long. He's in the 50th percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight. He's really slimming down now that he is so mobile. This boy never slows down. He's been on milk for a couple weeks. We're trying different things to get his constipation under control but so far he seems to love it. He drinks so much more then he did formula. I can imagine the formula didn't taste so well. Everything else seemed fine, he's just a happy, healthy little toddler now.

Happy 1st Birthday Isaac Avery!

I can't believe our baby is ONE! This past year has gone by so fast. It's amazing that a little over a year ago we had no children and now we have two wonderful little boys. Isaac amazes us each and every day with everything he learns. He is turning into quite the toddler with an amazing personality. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. Sunday we had a birthday party for him. Grandma and Grandpa B, Grandma and Grandpa K, Uncle Nolan, Aunt Gina, Uncle Brad, Cousin Caden, Great Grandma and Grandpa W were able to make it. Isaac loved his cake and presents. Thanks everyone for making Isaac's 1st birthday a memorable one!
