Family Photos

Today we all ended up wearing blue so we figured it was a good day for pictures so we had Ross' Mom come over and take some pictures of us sitting on the bench Ross made me for Valentine's Day. Isaac's blue eyes really show up with his blue shirt. Sam really wanted in the pictures too as well as our Mama kitty Lucy. This is about as good as it gets when I'm nearing 8 months pregnant!!! Enjoy!

Last weekend my brother, sister in law and niece Norah were home for the weekend. Isaac and I went to my parents so we could see them. We didn't see a whole lot of them but Norah sure has grown up. She is so cute and loves her cousin who she refers to as "Ike".

Today was nice out temperature wise but it was so windy we weren't able to get outside for a stroller ride or a swing ride. I got a couple cute pictures of Isaac in his highchair with his hat on. He thought it was pretty funny putting that big hat on his head. I can't believe he'll be 7 months next week.

Great Grandma W

Sunday we went over to Ross' Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate Ross' Grandma's birthday. We had a good meal and good time with family. Lots of kids there. We tried to get a picture of all the Great Grandchildren together. Isaac and Drew are the youngest. Drew is about 9 weeks younger than Isaac but they are close to the same weight. Isaac is "chubby" and Drew is just "long". They are cute though aren't they?

We have a nurse from Healthy Families (free county program) come out once a week and she loaned us this video and book and I do believe it is a life saver. They really show how to swaddle a baby nice and tight so the arms are tucked in. We tried it with Isaac and he never fussed last night at all. He usually fusses for about 1-2 hours at 10:00 or 11:00 but he didn't last night and he slept in his own bed the entire night. He is now going between 3 1/2 and 4 hour stretches so we are finally getting much needed sleep. This will be really nice when I go back to work December 3rd. We celebrated our family Thanksgiving last weekend. I didn't get a lot of pictures but I did get a few. Norah absolutely loves her baby cousin. She is so fun to watch!

Fun with the girls!!!

Kim, Emily and Daryan came to our house this weekend. We had tons of fun together. Daryan had never been to our house so it was a fun trip for her. We went to the park to play for a while, we went down to Island park and took some pictures, we played with the kittens at our place. The biggest event was taking the girls to Sioux Center to the All Seasons Center for swimming. We spent 3 hours there enjoying both the indoor and outdoor pools and slides. The girls got along wonderful which made us very happy. Emily as usual is the comic. When headed to Sioux Center, Ross made a comment "I think I missed my turn" so I in turn said "oh great now we have to backtrack a bit", and Emily's response "can we get our time back". She is so cute when she thinks about things like this. After we got home we ordered pizza and watched a movie. Hopefully in a couple years Miss Norah can come and stay too!!!!

Happy Birthday Norah Bear!

Norah is 1 year old today. I can't believe how fast this past year has gone. I still remember the day Michelle told me she was 7 weeks pregnant with a baby. I am so proud to call Norah my niece and Goddaughter. She is so much fun and has really helped some of our down days turn into bright days. We celebrated Norah's birthday this past weekend. I wasn't able to be there for cake and pizza so I gave Norah her present early. We got her a Build and Spill Musical Turtle. I've heard a lot of good reviews on this toy and she should be able to use it for a while. She seemed to like opening the gift but I think she was more interested in the box! That's a 1 year old for ya!

Weekend with my Goddaughter/Niece Norah

I hadn't seen my sweet Norah Bear for almost 3 months. It's amazing how much she's grown in that short time. She's now 9 months old, crawling everywhere and getting into everything. I bet she'll be walking in no time. It took her a little while to get used to me again but once she did she loved playing with me and letting me hold her. She went to Ross fairly quickly too. My parents brought Michelle and Norah to my work and then we went out for dinner at Shari's Kitchen. Then I took Michelle on a tour of our home. She loved the house and thought it was wonderful. Norah even got to try out the changing pad in the Nursery. Then we headed back to Milford. Michelle and I made a quick trip to Walmart and then back to Mom and Dad's house. Ross was able to spend a little time with Norah before we left. He is so good with her. He took her outside behind the house and picked a few tulips. He's going to be a wonderful father. New Year!

Well here we are in 2007. Boy did the holidays seem to go by so fast. All is well here. We are oficially done with our Adoption homestudy and are on the Bethany Website for waiting families. We're hoping to bring a miracle home this year!!! I've joined a couple online adoption boards so I am really hoping that will help with the wait. It's amazing how fast some placements go while others take a while. It all depends on the birthparent(s) likes and dislikes. We originally thought about going with International adoption but with that, there are a lot of hoops to jump through when dealing with other countries. Plus the travel time and not knowing if we can be away from the farm for an extended period of time. So we believe domestic (US) is the way to go. Thanks for everybody's support .
