HAPPILY MARRIED

Ross and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday. I honestly cannot believe it has been 5 years. Time has just flown by. What is even scarier is that we have been together for almost 8 years. Wow. It's funny to think that a year ago we it was the two of us hoping and praying for a baby and now we have two wonderful little boys! To celebrate our anniversary we had Grandma Janelle and Grandpa Roger come over and watch the boys while we went to Sioux Falls. We were able to do a little shopping, we went out to eat at Applebees and we even caught a movie. We hadn't been out in a long time. I think the last time was when I was about 37 weeks pregnant and we had Isaac with us. It was great to be able to spend some time with each other and we really enjoyed the evening. Hopefully we can do this every so often. It was weird not having a child on my hip but a great break I really needed.

Today my parents came over and we went out to dinner with them and Roger and Janelle. It was a good time. Isaac is so good when we go out to eat. He sits in his high chair so well. He's starting to eat a lot more table food so it's a good experience for him.

Today I dressed the boys in overalls and tried to get pictures of them together. It's a little difficult when Isaac wants to clobber Caleb. Of course I do believe Caleb will get him back one day! My mom also took some family pictures like we did with Isaac before Caleb was born. I must say I look better without a huge belly!!!!

Great Grandma W

Sunday we went over to Ross' Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate Ross' Grandma's birthday. We had a good meal and good time with family. Lots of kids there. We tried to get a picture of all the Great Grandchildren together. Isaac and Drew are the youngest. Drew is about 9 weeks younger than Isaac but they are close to the same weight. Isaac is "chubby" and Drew is just "long". They are cute though aren't they?

Easter

Isaac had a good 1st Easter. We went to Sunrise Service at 8:00 followed by breakfast at 9:00 and then Worship Service at 10:00. We made it to my parents a little after 12:00. It was a small gathering this year as everyone else had plans, but it was nice. We had a good time with my parents and my brother Chad. We had a lot of good food too, ham, potatoes, rolls, strawberry pretzel salad, snicker salad. Then for dessert we had homemade icecream and brownies topped with hot fudge. Yum!!!!!

Isaac got a couple new toys too so he was happy. Grandma and Grandma Johnson came over in the afternoon to see us since they hadn't seen Isaac in quite a while. They were amazed at how much he has grown. We got Isaac's Easter pictures back from Walmart and they turned out great. I also got a couple Easter snapshots. I'll call them Easter snapshots anyway, we won't tell Isaac that we forgot the camera and took them tonight!!!!

Trip to Hibbing

My Grandma passed away on Friday February 15th. She was 92 years old and an amazing woman. She suffered her first heart attack at the age of 38 and has dealt with heart issues most of her life. She has had congestive heart failure among other problems these last few years. She amazed me most of my life. Granted I loved my Grandpa very much too, but there was something about my Grandma that really hits home. She was one of the sweetest people I ever met. I remember taking trips to Hibbing about once or twice a year with my parents ever since I was a toddler. We had even planned a trip in April so that Grandma could meet her newest Great Grandson. I was excited. I knew that she was not sure who we were anymore, but she's loved babies so much I was just excited for her to meet this baby. I know she's happier now and with Grandpa and I know she's watching us and loving Isaac from Heaven.

Here's a picture taken a few years ago that I will cherish forever!

And this is one of my very favorite pictures of her in her new hat!

February 18th Isaac and I hit the road with my parents. We went half way and stayed with my brother Ryan and his wife Michelle and daughter Norah. It was a good time. Daryan was even able to come over for dinner and visit for a few hours. Norah is now 20 months old and she never stops. She is on the go constantly but such a character that girl! She loves her baby cousin. She kept saying "babeee" and "bot" and she would go get into Isaac's diaper bag and bring everything to me and then take it back. What a silly girl!!!! Tuesday morning Michelle and I made a trip to Good Will. I picked up a couple things for Isaac but didn't find anything for baby, oh well maybe next time.

Around 11:00 or so we headed for Hibbing. It was about another 4 hours from my brother's place so that wasn't too bad. Isaac did wonderful again. He either sleeps or plays with his toys and looks around. We got to the motel around 3:30 pm. Mom and Dad had one room and Isaac and I had another that was adjoining so that was very nice. That night we went over to my Aunt Brenda's house. The house was packed with family and friends. It was so great to see all of our family members that could make it. Everyone just loved Isaac and said he's such a good baby, and he is. The family that we were able to see was my Aunt Brenda and Uncle Butch, my cousin Jeff, his wife Sue and their 2 year old son Jack, my cousin Scott, his wife Julie, Julie's two girls Allison and Amy, and Scott and Julie's 2 girls Emily and Megan. We saw my cousin Bill and his wife Alisa, my cousin Chris, his wife Melinda and their son Jameson. My cousin Joe was able to make it but his wife Jill and their three kids Liam, Claire and Emmett were not able to make it. My Uncle Brian and Aunt Colette made it but none of their kids or grandkids were able to. My Aunt Janet was there as well. Then we also got to see good friend Tim and his son Timothy. What a full house and Isaac loved it all.

Wednesday morning we had to be at funeral home by 8:30 for visitation. My Grandma looked really good. She had lost a lot of weight, but she looked good and had a beautiful dress on. She looked different without her glasses, but it was good to say goodbye. I never had that closure with Grandpa. The funeral was at 10:30 and burial afterwards. The weather was so cold, 22 below so Isaac, my Mom and I stayed in the vehicle during burial. We had lunch afterwards and then went to the motel for a few hours. That night we went back to Aunt Brenda's with everyone and had another great time. Thursday morning we left around 9:00 and made the entire trip home, about 8 hours or so. Isaac did wonderful considering he was in that carseat for so long.

Meeting new friends

Isaac has had the opportunity to meet a few friends. On February 10th we had waffles and then went over to Grandma and Grandpa Winter's to celebrate Grandpa Winter's birthday. Ross' cousin Adrienne and her family came over. Adrienne's youngest is about 9 weeks younger than Isaac.

On February 16th Isaac and I went to Sioux Center to meet some friends. I had met another gal from Iowa who also adopted a baby not too long ago. We met Katie and her 7 month old son Gerrit for dinner. It was a good time.

Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's

This past weekend, Isaac and I went to Milford and stayed with Grandma and Grandpa B. Ross went with his brother and sister to Iowa City to a Hawkeye game. Isaac and I did not feel like riding in the car for 6 hours. We headed to Milford Friday night after I got off work. I was afraid Isaac would wake up half way there and cry the rest of the way but he didn't. He slept the entire way. It was the other baby causing problems. Sammy was so excited to see Mattie he kept crying. Ha!

We had a good weekend. Friday night Isaac did well and slept from 11 pm to 6 am which isn't too bad. Saturday was worse though and I am pretty sure it was because Sam was sleeping in the same room and couldn't get comfortable and was crying part of the time so needless to say at 3:30 Isaac was awake so I fed him a bottle and he went back to sleep until 7:00.
We had the chance to see Kathy, cousin Emily and Great Grandma and Grandpa J. It was a good weekend overall. Sam and Mattie played like crazy so they are resting up now that they are back to their normal schedules.

Isaac is back to sleeping well again too which is very nice. Last night he slept from 10:30 to 6:45 so that was nice. He still has a cough that wakes him up at least once in the night but he manages to put himself back to sleep.

So here's my adorable blue eyed baby boy!!!!
